Lady Gaga's dog walker speaks out after Hollywood shooting - The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lady Gaga’s dog walker, who was shot last week during a robbery in Hollywood when two of the singer’s French bulldogs were stolen, described the violence and his recovery “from a very close call with death” in social media posts Monday.

Ryan Fischer’s posts included pictures taken from his hospital bed, where he says “(a) lot of healing still needs to happen” but he looks forward to reuniting with the dogs.

Fischer was shot once as he walked three of Lady Gaga’s dogs on Wednesday night on a street just off the famed Sunset Boulevard. Video captured by the doorbell camera of a nearby home captured Fischer’s screams of “Oh my God! I’ve been shot!” and “Help me!” and “I’m bleeding out from my chest!”

Police are seeking two men in the attack and said Monday they are still investigating.

The two dogs, named Koji and Gustav, were returned unharmed Friday evening when a woman showed up at a Los Angeles police station with them. Detectives do not believe she was involved in the robbery or shooting and did not know if she would receive the $500,000 reward Lady Gaga had offered for the dogs’ return. The singer is currently in Rome to film a movie.

The 2021 Golden Globes could generously be described as a mess; reports detailed a lack of membership diversity and questionable perks, while critically acclaimed shows like I May Destroy You missed out on nominations. On top of that, the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler-hosted shindig was held virtually over Zoom, creating some awkward moments and interesting wardrobe choices. Still, awards were handed out in the end and the evening's biggest winner was Netflix, as streaming companies continue to dominate during the pandemic.

Netflix's The Crown took home four awards for Best Television Series Drama, Best Actor (Josh O'Connor), Best Actress (Emma Corrin) and Best Supporting Actress (Gillian Anderson). The Queen's Gambit won two, including Best Television Limited Series and Best Actress (Anya Taylor-Joy). Other Netflix awards included Best Screenplay for Trial of the Chicago 7, Rosamund Pike for I Care a Lot (Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical) and the late Chadwick Boseman winning Best Actor for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

Nomadland from Searchlight Pictures (streaming on Hulu) was the other big winner, taking Best Picture and Best Director (Chloe Zhao). Still on the film side, Get Out's Daniel Kaluuya took Best Supporting Actor for Warner Bros.' Judas and the Black Messiah (on HBO Max). Minari (only available for purchase through Amazon Prime, Google Play and others) took Best Foreign Film, despite being set and filmed in the US by American filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung.

Amazon Studios garnered three awards, including two for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (Best Picture, Comedy or Musical and Sacha Baron Cohen for Best Actor). Apple TV+ won a single award for Jason Sudeikis, who took the Best Actor in a Comedy TV Series for Ted Lasso.

On the non-streaming side, Schitt's Creek was the biggest winner on that side with two awards, while Mark Ruffalo won Best Actor in a Limited Series for HBO's I Know This Much is True. Whether streaming can stay on top when the pandemic winds down remains to be seen, but hopefully COVID-19 will be mostly behind us by the 2022 Golden Globes.

You almost want to tell her editors to take the day off. You were already going to watch Oprah Winfrey sit down with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for their upcoming interview Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special. They didn’t need to go so hard with the special’s teaser trailer, released on Sunday, but oh boy, did they.

“Were you silent…or were you silenced?,” Winfrey asks Markle, currently pregnant with her second child, in the spot. “I just want to make it clear to everybody there is no subject that’s off-limits,” declares Oprah. “Almost unsurvivable. Sounds like there was a breaking point.”

After marrying in 2018, welcoming son Archie in 2019, and being subjected to a nonstop litany of public scrutiny pretty much all the time, the pair stepped down as senior members of the House of Windsor last year and moved to California, Markle herself being a Los Angeles native, to pursue other, non-royal interests.

Says the Duke of Sussex, “My biggest concern was history repeating itself.” Intones Oprah, “You’ve said some pretty shocking things here.” Shocking to Oprah?! What could that even be?! Looks like we’ll all have to wait and find out next Sunday, March 7 when the special airs on CBS at 8 p.m ET.

Gal Gadot goes Old Hollywood glam at the 2021 Golden Globes - Page Six

Gal Gadot traded her skintight superhero style for a flowing frock at the 2021 Golden Globes.

The “Wonder Woman 1984” star, 35, sported a white Givenchy dress with sheer sleeves while presenting an award during Sunday’s virtual ceremony.

She accessorized the short style with jewels from Tiffany & Co., perhaps as a nod to her character Diana Prince’s predilection for the heritage brand.

Gadot channeled Old Hollywood glamour for her hosting duties, completing the look with wavy hair, bright red lipstick and strappy heels.

While some celebrities dressed down for the ceremony, the “Justice League” actress was among the many stars who stepped up their at-home style for the occasion.

Following her looser-fitting outfit choice, pregnancy rumors swirled on Twitter, with “Frozen” songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez writing, “Pretty darn sure Gal Gadot may be preggers,” and another adding, “Gal Gadot is clearly pregnant, right?”

Gadot has been married to Yaron Versano since 2008, and the pair share two daughters, Maya and Alma.

Golden Globes winners 2021: The full list - Vox.com

The winners of the 2021 Golden Globes were crowned on Sunday night, in a bicoastal and bizarrely produced ceremony hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

There were awkward Zoom moments aplenty. There were several uncomfortable but necessary mentions of the lack of diversity among this year’s nominees and within the notoriously corrupt organization that hands out the Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. And in between, a variety of television shows and movies won new trophies!

On the TV side, Netflix drama The Crown was the winningest show of the evening, taking home four statuettes, including Best TV Series – Drama. It was joined on the winners list by its Netflix sibling The Queen’s Gambit, which won Best Limited TV Series, as well as Best Actress in a TV Drama for star Anya Taylor-Joy. And in the TV comedy categories, the beloved Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek capped off its sweep at last year’s Emmys with one more victory lap for its final season, winning Best TV Series and Best Actress for Catherine O’Hara.

On the film side, several movies won two Globes apiece. Searchlight Pictures’ Nomadland earned one for Best Motion Picture – Drama and one for director Chloé Zhao. Amazon Studios’ Borat Subsequent Moviefilm won Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, and its star Sacha Baron Cohen won Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. And Pixar’s Soul won Best Animated Motion Picture and Best Original Score. The rest of the film awards were fairly spread out: Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, I Care A Lot, and The Trial of the Chicago 7 all took home awards, as did HBO Max’s Judas and the Black Messiah, STXfilms’ The Mauritanian, and A24’s Minari.

Despite recent controversies and their reputation as the goofiest major entertainment industry awards show, the Golden Globes have long functioned as a prominent kickoff to Hollywood’s annual awards season. That’s still true in this atypical year. Though the 2021 edition of the Globes happened two months later than usual thanks to the pandemic, they still took place shortly before the close of Oscar voting and several weeks ahead of the Covid-19-delayed Oscar ceremony, which is slated for April 25. Thus, the Globes maintain their not-really-but-sometimes status as an Oscar indicator.
