Josh Duggar arrested, indicted on child pornography charges - CNN

Duggar allegedly downloaded material that depicted the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12, the US attorney's office said in a statement. Duggar allegedly possessed the material in May 2019.
Duggar, the oldest son of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, whose family was the subject of the TLC show "19 Kids and Counting," faces two charges, the indictment shows -- one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. He faces up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 if convicted, the statement said.
Duggar was arrested in Arkansas Thursday, according to the statement. He appeared in federal court Friday via video conference and pleaded not guilty to both charges.
"We intend to defend this case aggressively and thoroughly. In this country, no one can stop prosecutors from charging a crime. But when you're accused, you can fight back in the courtroom -- and that is exactly what Josh intends to do," Duggar's attorneys Justin Gelfand, Travis W. Story and Greg Payne said in an email to CNN Friday.
Duggar is set to appear in court again on May 5 for a detention hearing. The trial is currently scheduled for July 6, Judge Erin Wiedemann said.
This is not Duggar's first time making headlines.
TLC canceled the reality television show in 2015 after reports surfaced that Duggar allegedly molested girls when he was a teenager. Duggar was never charged in relation to those allegations.
That same year, Duggar admitted that he had used Ashley Madison, a website designed to help married people cheat on their spouses, after his name was released when the website was hacked.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar posted a statement on their family website about the "very serious accusations" Duggar is facing.
"We appreciate your continued prayers for our family at this time. The accusations brought against Joshua today are very serious. It is our prayer that the truth, no matter what it is, will come to light, and that this will all be resolved in a timely manner. We love Josh and Anna and continue to pray for their family," they said.

"Game Of Thrones" Actor Esmé Bianco Is Suing Marilyn Manson For Rape And Abuse - BuzzFeed News

British actor Esmé Bianco, best known for her role as Ros in Game of Thrones, filed a lawsuit against Marilyn Manson on Friday, accusing him of rape and a wide range of abusive acts.

Now, at least 15 women, including Westworld actor Evan Rachel Wood, have accused Manson of abuse.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed in a federal court in California, Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, raped Bianco in May 2011. In several instances, the lawsuit states, he "used drugs, force, and threats of force to coerce sexual acts" out of Bianco, at times "when she was unconscious or otherwise unable to consent." She also said he spanked, bit, whipped, and cut her butt, breasts, and genitals during sex without her consent.

Manson is also being sued for violating the Trafficking Victims Protection Act; Bianco claims he fraudulently promised her work opportunities in the US that he knew would never come to fruition. "By inserting himself in Ms. Bianco's visa process, Mr. Warner was able to control Ms. Bianco by threatening to withdraw support if she displeased him," the lawsuit states.

According to the lawsuit, the abuse began in February 2009, when Manson flew Bianco out to Los Angeles to film a music video that was never published. Upon her arrival, she found "there was no crew present and that she was expected to stay at Mr. Warner’s home rather than in the hotel that had been previously booked."

During the four-day shoot, which Manson filmed himself on a handheld flip camera, Bianco was allegedly made to wear lingerie the entire time, deprived of sleep, and given drugs and alcohol but no food. Throughout the shoot, Bianco said, Manson beat and electrocuted her, threatened to rape her, forced her to watch an "extremely violent movie that caused her to faint," and attempted to force her to perform sex acts with another woman on camera.

"Perhaps most horrifyingly, Mr. Warner locked Ms. Bianco in the bedroom, tied her to a prayer kneeler, and beat her with a whip that Mr. Warner said was utilized by the Nazis," the lawsuit states.

Bianco said she did not fight back out of fear that retaliation would have professional consequences and that he would treat her even more violently.

A few months later, in May 2009, the two began a sexual relationship. Though consensual at the time, he allegedly bit, bruised, and publicly groped her without consent. He also is accused of forcing her to follow a "dress code" and verbally degrading her in interviews. In one instance, he's alleged to have tried to bring an underage person back to their hotel.

In 2011, Bianco moved in with Manson for two and a half months, during which she said she endured "constant abuse." He allegedly did not allow her to leave the apartment without permission or have visitors. He kept her "awake for days at a time and then would lock her out of the apartment overnight," the lawsuit states. He also kept the apartment in "near-total darkness and insisted that the temperature remain at 63 degrees Fahrenheit" and would regularly become enraged, throw objects, and verbally abuse her, according to the lawsuit.

"Mr. Warner would berate Ms. Bianco if he did not like her outfit, if she touched the thermostat, if she attempted to open the curtains in the apartment, if she expressed discomfort with the violent and sexually graphic films Mr. Warner played throughout the apartment, and if she failed to find objects he hid around the apartment," the lawsuit states.

In one incident, Manson allegedly chased Bianco with an ax and smashed holes in the wall. And in another, he allegedly "cut Ms. Bianco with a Nazi knife during sex, without her consent, and photographed the cuts on her body," and nonconsensually posted the photos online.

Bianco escaped in June 2011 while Manson was sleeping; when he found out, he "threatened to have her visa revoked and to 'punish' her when he next saw her," according to the lawsuit.

To this day, she has post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, and panic attacks and believes her career has suffered as a result.

"It took Ms. Bianco years to understand the extent of Mr. Warner’s physical, sexual, psychological, and emotional abuse," the lawsuit states.

Bianco first spoke out about the trauma she endured in front of the California State Assembly in 2019 while advocating for the Phoenix Act, a since-passed state law that extended the statute of limitations for domestic abuse survivors. But she did not name her alleged abuser until February, when she told the Cut about how Manson "almost destroyed" her.

In a statement she shared on social media Friday, Bianco said Manson has for far too long "been left unchecked, enabled by money, fame, and an industry that turned a blind eye."

"Despite the numerous brave women who have spoken out against Marilyn Manson, countless survivors remain silenced, and some of their voices will never be heard," Bianco said. "My hope is that by raising mine I will help to stop Brian Warner from shattering any more lives and empower other victims to seek their own small measure of justice."

Manson did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the lawsuit. But in February, after Wood first accused him of abuse, he called the allegations "distortions of reality" in a statement posted on Instagram.

“Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality,” he wrote. “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”

Disney fans celebrate the reopening of Disneyland with custom Mickey ears and masks - CNBC

There are few things so iconic that a simple silhouette can be instantly recognizable to anyone in the world.

That's the power of Disney and its stalwart symbol Mickey Mouse, which has transcended from cartoon mouse to corporate emblem. When Disneyland and California Adventure reopened Friday for the first time in more than a year, a quick scan of the crowd showed how ubiquitous that 93-year-old mouse truly is.

In the six decades since Disney opened its first theme park, the company has fostered a distinct culture within its amusement locations. From how its cast members are instructed to go about their jobs to the ambiance of the different lands that make up the park, everything that Disney does is deliberate and in service of creating an unrepeatable experience.

Perhaps the most prevalent example of this comes in the form of wearable Mickey and Minnie ears.

Mickey ear hats have been a staple souvenir for Disney parks for decades. Created by Roy Williams for the Mouseketeers on "The Mickey Mouse Club" in the '50s, getting a pair of classic black Mickey Mouse ears, with custom embroidering, has been a rite of passage for many parkgoers since Disneyland first opened in 1955.

In the mid-80s, Disney began to offer a headband version of these hats. However, it wasn't until the park's 50th anniversary that product developers redesigned the iconic ears. In celebration of the milestone, Disney offered a line of golden ears.

The golden hat became such a phenomenon that it inspired the company to make other versions for special occasions and holidays. Over the years, these classic keepsakes have evolved into coveted fashionable and Instagramable accessories.

A top seller at the parks, Disney has worked hard to keep up with demand. The company has designed dozens of different pairs from simple sequined ears to pairs that honor fan-favorite characters and attractions. Most of the ears in Disney's collection cost around $30 per pair. However, due to the popularity of these headbands, Disney has partnered with a number of designers to make limited edition specialty ears that can cost closer to $100.

These ears have become so popular that crafters have turned to Etsy to create and sell their own designs. In preparation for the reopening of Disneyland, many guests are shopping for specialty ears and masks to wear around the park.

To be sure, Disney is not the only theme park to lean heavily into merchandise. Universal Studios sells Hogwarts robes and Minions T-shirts at its parks and Six Flags has licensing agreements with Warner Bros.' Looney Tunes brand. Still, there is something distinctive about Disney's Mickey ears that set them apart from other souvenirs.

Wearing your fandom

These ears have become more than just a singular memento, but a major collectible for Disney parks fans.

Krissy Reynolds, a 35-year-old restaurant manager from Virginia, has a collection of more than 40 Mickey ears. The collection started with a pair of red and black sequined Minnie Mouse ears she acquired during a college trip.

"We do outfits to match what park we are going to each day and then match each other," said Reynolds. "Like for Hollywood Studios, we do 'Toy Story' outfits with shirts and ears and hats or accessories."

At Magic Kingdom, Reynolds, her husband Wesley, 43, and son Cayson, 8, dress as classic Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie. At Animal Kingdom, the theme is usually "Lion King."

Her family typically spends five days at Walt Disney World and brings two or three ears from her collection to wear during the trip and purchases a few new pairs once she's at the parks.

Since Disney doesn't permit adults to wear costumes in the park, older guests that are still children at heart, have resorted to other means to celebrate their favorite Disney characters, movies and moments.

Look closer and you'll see someone wearing an outfit that's reminiscent of Peter Pan, Rapunzel or Snow White, a trend known as "Disney bounding."

"I'm a sucker for anything Sleeping Beauty," she said. "I also like sequins and unique things like when [Disney does] special food or holiday [ears]."

Crafters meeting demand

For many like Reynolds, who spend multiple days at the parks either in Florida or California, one set of ears is not enough. And while Disney has a large selection of Mickey ear designs, the demand for unique headbands has grown so much that independent sellers have entered the picture.

Etsy, in particular, has become a hub for small business owners to sell customizable ears and ones based on niche characters. In the weeks leading up to Disneyland's reopening, these sellers have seen a significant uptick in sales.

"Sales were come and go for most of the pandemic," said Rachel Vega, owner of the Etsy shop Enchanted Story Ears. "It really picked up in January. I think as we started seeing things moving forward both with [Disney World being] open and the hopes of Disneyland opening up at some point."

Vega, a high school orchestra teacher, has been selling handmade Mickey ears on the e-commerce site for about a year. Her best-selling product is a set of graduation ears, which feature a small black academic cap and can be customized with the graduate's school colors. Her ears retail for between $35 and $40.

"I fell in love with making custom ears when making them for a sisters' trip and decided to start the shop to sell the ears I make," she said. "I love having ears that are unique and comfortable when I go to the parks and know there are many who feel the same. It's definitely a method of personal expression at the parks."

Searching for Mickey ears on Etsy brings thousands of results, from dainty, fairy-like headbands based on popular characters to fabric patterned ears with big bows and glitter.

Arisa, a student turned entrepreneur, has been selling her version of Mickey ears since March 2019. In two years, she's made more the 900 sales from her shop Ears by Arisa.

Currently, her best-selling ears are based on Loki, Wanda Maximoff, Baby Groot and Rapunzel. Her ears sell for between $24 and $31 depending on the style.

"Since California has lifted bans on theme parks, more people have left me notes saying how excited they are to wear my ears for their upcoming trips," she said. "I even received a few custom orders to have their ears match masks they have."

During the pandemic, Disney-themed masks have also been a major profit driver for small businesses. Those visiting Disney's parks during the pandemic have embraced the mask requirements and used it as an opportunity to wear their favorite fandoms proudly in public.

When Debra Dix isn't working as a case manager in the workforce department of Goodwill, she's sewing and selling masks. She started her shop in December 2020 and already has nearly 500 sales.

The majority of the fabric she uses for these masks are Disney-themed. Her two best-sellers right now are a Disney parks snacks pattern and an animal print Mickey design.

"I've definitely sold more masks in the last 2 months," Dix said. "In most cases, customers will buy one mask, but lately my average has been three to five masks per order."

These masks and ears are part of the Disney experience and can help parkgoers create lasting memories.

Meagan Remmes, 30, of Asheville, North Carolina, purchased a set of bridal Mickey ears to wear during her honeymoon trip to Disney World this year.

"We knew we wanted something special to commemorate that it was our honeymoon, and while the buttons are free, they're not exactly a statement maker," she said of her decision to pick up a pair of veiled white ears.

"It was either going to be Mickey ears or custom T-shirts, but everything we looked at didn't quite feel like us," she said. "Mickey ears were a simple solution that made us feel special in the most Disney way possible."

Josh Duggar pleads not guilty to federal child pornography charges following arrest - Fox News

Josh Duggar pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of child pornography in court on Friday, one day following his arrest.

The hearing, which was held virtually over Zoom in the Western District of Arkansas, began at 11 a.m. CT. Duggar appeared from jail and was seen smiling before the hearing kicked off. He was represented by Arkansas attorney Travis W. Story.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Arkansas confirmed the 33-year-old former "19 Kids and Counting" star has been charged with receiving and possessing material depicting the sexual abuse of children.

Duggar is accused of allegedly using "the internet to download child sexual abuse material. Duggar allegedly possessed this material, some of which depicts the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12, in May 2019," a release from the US Attorney's Office states.

Duggar is charged by indictment. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years of imprisonment and fines up to $250,000 on each count.

A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

Duggar's charges were not read aloud during the hearing -- a request made by his attorney and granted by the court. His attorney pleaded "not guilty to both counts."

Duggar's attorney is requesting he be released on bond. A trial date for his case was set for July 6, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for July 1. Prior to trial and based on his request to be released from jail on bond, Federal Magistrate Judge Erin L. Wiedemann informed Duggar's attorneys that if he is eligible for release, he would be required to reside with a third-party custodian.

Wiedemann informed Duggar that he cannot be in the presence of minors if he is released from jail. A hearing set to determine whether he will be released is scheduled for May 5 at 1:30 p.m. CT.

"Given the nature of the charges against him, the court would likely require a third-party custodian that he could reside with and that would ensure compliance with conditions of bond so you all would need to get that line out and inform our probation office of who that person is so they could interview that person," Wiedemann said.

"They also will want to interview Mr. Duggar. They won't discuss your charges Duggar but they will interview you for information to determine whether you're a good person for release, in a residence where they are no minors in the home or that would be visiting unsupervised," the judge continued.

The former reality star will remain in custody pending the May 5 hearing.

The 33-year-old was arrested on Thursday afternoon local time, according to an online profile from the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Back in 2019, the car dealership where Duggar worked was raided by Homeland Security in connection with an ongoing federal investigation, though it's currently unclear if the raid and his arrest are connected.

Earlier the same week, it was reported that the Duggar household was also raided, though the family denied it.

He's also been previously accused of sexually abusing several of his sisters, as well as a fifth unrelated victim.

Duggar's arrest news comes days after his wife, Anna, announced the couple was expecting their seventh child together

"This case is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and CEOS, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims," the US Attorney's Office release continued.

The case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations Fayetteville and the Northwest Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

ITV Pulls ‘Viewpoint’ Following Noel Clarke Sexual Misconduct Allegations - Variety

U.K. broadcaster ITV has pulled the plug on the finale of its new drama series “Viewpoint,” which was set to air tonight (Friday) at 9 p.m., following numerous allegations made about series star Noel Clarke.

The “Love Island” broadcaster has been facing intense pressure to call time early on the police drama — which has been airing every night this week — after a Guardian investigation yielded a slew of sexual misconduct, harassment and bullying claims against Clarke. The outlet spoke with 20 women who had worked with the actor in a professional setting.

“ITV has a zero tolerance policy to bullying, harassment and victimisation and robust procedures in place to investigate and deal with any complaints. We strongly believe that everyone deserves to work in a supportive and safe environment,” reads a statement shared with Variety.

“In light of the very serious nature of the allegations against Noel Clarke raised by 20 women in the Guardian’s report, ITV has decided it is no longer appropriate to broadcast the final episode of the drama ‘Viewpoint’ on ITV main channel this evening.

“We are mindful that some of our viewers have already invested four hours of their time over the past four nights in following this thriller which was due to conclude this evening, and they have yet to see the final episode. As such we plan to make it available on ITV Hub tonight for a limited time for any viewers who wish to seek it out, and watch its conclusion.”

Variety understands that “Viewpoint” producer Tiger Aspect nor ITV received complaints about Clarke’s behaviour during the making of the show.

The series — which aired on Thursday night, a mere two hours after the Guardian story dropped — will be made available on ITV Hub until Sunday evening, after which it will disappear from all ITV platforms.

Shortly after news broke of ITV yanking the finale, “Viewpoint” star Alexandra Roach thanked the women who spoke out for their “incredible bravery in coming forward and helping to put a stop to this kind of behaviour in our industry.”

“If I could stop working with sexual predators…that would be great,” said Roach. “Sending a big hug to all cast and crew who worked so very hard on ‘Viewpoint.’ For those that want to see the  final episode you’ll find it on ITV Hub for the next few days.”

Meanwhile, Clarke has also been removed from a writing scheme run by ITV and “The Salisbury Poisonings” producer Dancing Ledge Productions, a company in which Fremantle has a 25% stake.

Clarke was to mentor Alex Straker, whose writing credits include “EastEnders” and “Holby City”. ITV and Dancing Ledge have decided that it is “no longer appropriate” to have Clarke remain as a mentor because of the allegations against him, and a new mentor will be found for Straker.

The fall-out from the Guardian’s bombshell investigation has been swift. BAFTA suspended the actor, who recently received a special award from the org, from its membership, while Clarke’s long-time friend and “Bulletproof” co-star Ashley Waters also distanced himself from the star, saying he could “never condone behaviour of this nature neither in nor out of the workplace.”

Marilyn Manson Sued for Sexual Assault, Sex Trafficking by ‘Game of Thrones’ Actress Esmé Bianco - Rolling Stone

Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco has sued Marilyn Manson and his former manager, Tony Ciulla, alleging that the singer raped and sexually battered her. The complaint, filed Friday in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, also claims that Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, Ciulla, and Ciulla’s management company violated human-trafficking laws by bringing her from London to Los Angeles under the pretense that she would be acting in a music video that never came out and a film that was never made.

The British actress, who played Ros on the hit HBO show, was one of more than a dozen women to speak out against the shock-rocker earlier this year. In February, she detailed the alleged abuse stemming from her relationship with Warner when they were a couple in 2011 in an interview with New York magazine. On Friday, she added fresh claims in the new legal filing. The complaint marks the first legal action against Warner since allegations of sexual and physical abuse surfaced this year.

“Mr. Warner used drugs, force, and threats of force to coerce sexual acts from Ms. Bianco on multiple occasions,” the lawsuit says. “Mr. Warner raped Ms. Bianco in or around May 2011.” It goes on to claim that Warner “committed sexual acts” with Bianco at times when she was unconscious or unable to consent, and lists the ways she claims he sexually battered her: “These acts include spanking, biting, cutting, and whipping Ms. Bianco’s buttocks, breasts, and genitals for Mr. Warner’s sexual gratification — all without the consent of Plaintiff.”

Bianco alleges that Warner violated California laws for sexual assault and sexual battery, further claiming that Warner and Ciulla violated the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act. Ciulla Management — the company founded by Ciulla that has managed the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rob Zombie, Tove Lo, and others over the years — is also named as a defendant in the last claim. Ciulla represented Warner for more than 25 years before cutting ties with him in February following the assault allegations.

According to the complaint, Warner engaged in human trafficking when he “employed fraud” in enticing Bianco to the United States to appear in a music video for his song “I Want to Kill You Like They Do in the Movies” and a never-made horror film based on the works of Lewis Carroll called Phantasmagoria. “He promised work opportunities that never appeared while inserting himself in her visa process,” the complaint says. He continued his fraud, she alleges, when he “[directed] Ms. Bianco to draft paperwork to confirm that she would star in his upcoming film.” Furthermore, the filing adds, “By inserting himself in Ms. Bianco’s visa process, Mr. Warner was able to control Ms. Bianco by threatening to withdraw support if she displeased him.” At one point, she claims, he prevented her from escaping by locking her in a bedroom.

Bianco also alleged he forced her to perform “unpaid labor,” violating U.S. law regarding human trafficking. “This included serving and preparing food for Mr. Warner and his guests, cleaning his apartment, consulting on his album, providing uncredited backup vocals during the creative process for the album Born Villain, and being offered up to his guests and bandmates to ‘spank,'” the lawsuit alleges. “Mr. Warner implied that because he had brought Ms. Bianco to the United States and provided housing, she owed him labor and sexual intimacy.”

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Bianco noted her role in the Phoenix Act, the California law that expands rights for domestic-abuse survivors, championed by actress Evan Rachel Wood, who has also accused Warner of abuse. “As millions of survivors like myself are painfully aware, our legal system is far from perfect,” Bianco says. “This is why I co-created the Phoenix Act, a law which gives precious additional healing time to thousands of domestic violence survivors. But while I fight for a more just legal system, I am also pursuing my right to demand my abuser be held to account, using every avenue available to me.

“For far too long, my abuser has been left unchecked, enabled by money, fame, and an industry that turned a blind eye,” she adds. “Despite the numerous brave women who have spoken out against Marilyn Manson, countless survivors remain silenced, and some of their voices will never be heard. My hope is that by raising mine, I will help to stop Brian Warner from shattering any more lives and empower other victims to seek their own small measure of justice.”

In addition to her allegations of sexual abuse, she claims Warner controlled her by giving her drugs and depriving her of food and sleep. This was, the suit says, “in order to weaken her physically and mentally and decrease her ability to refuse him.” Bianco is seeking unspecified damages for the abuse she says she suffered. (A lawyer for Warner and a rep for Ciulla did not immediately reply to a detailed list of the allegations.)

Bianco claims that Ciulla and his management company are also responsible because they benefited financially from “allowing this abuse to continue.” Additionally, she claims that Ciulla Management was aware of the way Warner’s assistant would serve as a “babysitter” when the singer wasn’t around. “Mr. Warner’s former assistants discussed Mr. Warner’s abuse directly with Mr. Ciulla,” the suit claims. “Mr. Warner’s management had a vested interest in supporting his violent tendencies to encourage the creation of his ‘art’ and the promotion of the brand of Marilyn Manson, and were complicit in Mr. Warner’s abuse of Ms. Bianco.”

As Bianco told New York in February, she first met Warner through his then-fiancée, Dita Von Teese, in 2005. After his divorce from Von Teese in 2007, he pursued Bianco, allegedly asking her for nude photos and enticing her with the Phantasmagoria film project. She claims he flew her to Los Angeles in February 2009 for the music-video shoot. “Upon arrival, Ms. Bianco found that there was no crew present and that she was expected to stay at Mr. Warner’s home rather than in the hotel that had been previously booked,” the lawsuit says. It claims Warner did not give her food for the four-day shoot, instead plying her with alcohol and drugs, making her wear lingerie the entire time, and not allowing her to sleep and to be on call 24 hours a day.

During the shoot, Bianco claims Warner acted erratically, at one point breaking his camera in a fit of anger. She says he made her watch a movie so violent that she fainted, and that he tried to force her to perform sexual acts with another woman on camera. “Perhaps most horrifyingly, Mr. Warner locked Ms. Bianco in the bedroom, tied her to a prayer kneeler, and beat her with a whip that Mr. Warner said was utilized by the Nazis,” the lawsuit says. “He also electrocuted her.”

In May 2009, the lawsuit continues, Warner flew to London and he and Bianco struck up a consensual sexual relationship. During this time, though, he allegedly groped her in public without her consent and made her adhere to a dress code. “[He] forced her to sit at his feet during press visits,” the filing says. “He verbally degraded her during interviews. He also attempted to bring a minor back to the hotel with him and Ms. Bianco.”

They maintained a long-distance relationship until April 2011, when he asked Bianco to move to Los Angeles and said he would secure her a visa, according to the filing. She lived with Warner until she reached her breaking point two and a half months later. It was then, she says, that he threatened her visa status, kept her prisoner in his apartment, and locked her in a closet.

“On one occasion, Mr. Warner chased Plaintiff around the apartment with an ax, smashing holes in the walls,” the lawsuit claims. “On another occasion, Mr. Warner cut Ms. Bianco with a Nazi knife during sex, without her consent, and photographed the cuts on her body. He then posted the photos online without her consent. Mr. Warner’s friends, bandmates, assistant, producer, and other colleagues witnessed various aspects of this abuse — including Mr. Ciulla.”

She escaped one day in June 2011, the lawsuit says, when Warner was sleeping. When he learned she had left, she says, he threatened her visa again. They saw each other again two years later after one of Warner’s concerts. She met him on his bus afterward, where he “forcibly kissed her without her consent and attempted to block her from leaving,” the filing claims. In the New York article, Warner’s then-assistant said the incident lasted until 5 a.m.

“I am inspired by Ms. Bianco’s courage and dedication to holding Brian Warner accountable,” Bianco’s lawyer, Jay Ellwanger, tells Rolling Stone. “While we understand that the criminal investigations are still ongoing, it is vital that we pursue every possible avenue to hold him accountable for the horrific acts he committed.” Since Warner’s accusers went public with the allegations, Loma Vista, his record label, and booking agent CAA dropped him from their rosters, while TV shows American Gods and Creepshow removed his planned performances.

In February, Warner responded to the women’s claims in a statement, calling them “horrible distortions of reality.” “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners,” he wrote. “Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”

In the New York article, Bianco described the singer as a “monster who almost destroyed me and almost destroyed so many women.” “He’s told the world time and time again, ‘This is who I am,'” she said. “He hid in plain sight.”
