Gene Simmons tests positive for COVID-19, Kiss tour postponed - New York Post

Another member of the legendary rock group Kiss has tested positive for COVID-19.

Following a Friday announcement that Paul Stanley tested positive for the virus — and that the band was canceling the evening’s show as a result — Gene Simmons has also tested positive, and the group will be postponing multiple upcoming shows as a result.

“Kiss will postpone their next four tour dates. While Paul Stanley recently tweeted that he has recovered from COVID, Gene Simmons has now tested positive and is experiencing mild symptoms,” Kiss tweeted Tuesday. “The band and crew will remain at home and isolate for the next 10 days and doctors have indicated the tour should be able to resume on September 9th at FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA.”

The Post has reached out to reps for Simmons for comment.

Purchased tickets for their “End of the Road” farewell tour will be honored at the new dates once they are announced, the post added. The now postponed shows were set to take place in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin. The show canceled upon Stanley’s diagnosis was in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.

In announcing the rockers’ breakthrough cases, Kiss has also revealed that the entire band and touring crew are fully vaccinated.

Members of Kiss “and their crew have operated in a bubble independently to safeguard everyone as much as possible at each show and in between shows,” the band wrote in a statement following Stanley’s diagnosis. “The tour also has a COVID safety protocol officer on staff full-time that is ensuring everyone is closely following all CDC guidelines.”

Stanley shared his experience with the virus on Twitter

“My COVID symptoms were MILD compared to many others and let me tell you … It kicked my ass,” he wrote Monday. “It’s over now.”
